Travel Arizona
The one discovery that is most responsible for this collaboration is the I-17 corridor. I-17 is a very historic, vibrant and beautiful area of Arizona that is all but forgotten and passed by at 75 MPH hundreds of times a day.
The landscape ranges from the tall stately Saguaro Cacti in the Metro Phoenix Area, to the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine in America at Flagstaff. Traveling from “The Valley of the Sun” to the Grand Canyon, the traveler experiences an altitude change from 2,500 feet to about 7,500 feet.
Taming the west and experiencing the Gold Rush are all part of Arizona. The notorious, the famous, and the desperate all were iconic in this area. To name a few; Wyatt Earp and his brothers, Jack Swilling, Teddy Roosevelt, Zane Grey, John Wayne, members of the Jackson Hole Gang, Sitgraves, Beal, A. J. Chandler, and Cochise to name but a few.
Zane Grey and John Wayne were at least part time residents and property holders in Arizona. Teddy Roosevelt organized the Arizona Company of the Rough Riders. Jack Swilling and A.J. Chandler were the fathers of Irrigation, making the Phoenix valley habitable long before statehood of Arizona.
The by-ways, back roads, and trails of rural Arizona are the tales of this Arizona Adventure. The trails of the Spanish explorers, the ruts of the migrant’s wagons, the by-ways created by explorers Powell, Beal and Sitgraves, the roads of the first cars in the early 1900’s and the super highways of today hold the secrets to Arizona Adventures.
